Every month our Advanced Technology group evaluates the latest tools in QA testing and passes on their findings to you. This month, we will take a look at JFreeChart and JavaMail API. We have also provided a list of the latest support updates. As always, we hope this will help increase your QA team’s efficiency and productivity, as well as get the most out of test automation.
Latest Support Updates from June 2015:
- A new version, 9.2 of Collaborator has been released featuring options to create reviews from within IntelliJ interface for SVN/Git or directly creating a Jira ticket.
- Jenkins 1.618 has released with fixes to JDK synchronization issues.
- Calabash has released its new version, 0.14.3.
- Appium 1.4.7 has released with fixes to sessionId issues.
Tools and Technology Overview:
JFreeChart is a free Java chart library that makes it easy for developers to display professional quality charts within their application. For example this library can be integrated with a Selenium Page Object Based framework, where it will create trending reports of regression suite execution.
JavaMail API provides a platform-independent and protocol-independent framework to build mail and messaging applications. This tool can be used to integrate API with the framework to send customized email reports to all stakeholders after comprehensive suite execution.
